Selects the values of 6h interval dry-bulb temperature of a station in Shanghai in 2012, and calculates the hourly dry-bulb temperature with Fourier series and cubic spline function method, respectively. Compares their calculation results and hourly observational temperature values using root-mean-square errors and absolute errors, and discusses the accuracy and applicability of the two methods. The results indicate that the two methods can meet the requirements of generation of typical meteorological year and the statistics of outdoor calculation parameters. The accuracy of cubic spline function is slightly higher than that of Fourier series.
